Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • pinch freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 heaped tablespoon
  • pinch freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1.25 kg
  • 2 onions
  • salt
  • 45 g (1

  • 1 cup plain yoghurt
  • 10 minutes (Tessa suggests adding more water, if it looks as though it needs it
  • 10-15 minutes Allow to cool completely, and then grind up in a blender with some water until you have a smooth, fine paste
