Ingredients

  • 2.5 kg of Pork Leg Roast, skin removed and trimmed of fat
  • 1 T Chinese 5 Spice, Heaped
  • 3 T Soy Sauce
  • 3 Star Anise
  • 1 t Chilli Flakes, Heaped (more if you like things hot)
  • 1 T Sesame Oil
  • 1 T Rice Wine Vinegar
  • 1 t Szechuan Pepper, Ground
  • ½ Mandarin Peel
  • 1 C Water
  • 3 T Brown Sugar
  • 2 Large Onion, Peeled and cut into wedges
  • ¼ Cabbge, Washed and finely shreeded
  • 1 Large Carrot, Grated
  • 2 T Sesame Seeds, Toasted in a fry-pan till golden
  • Dressing
  • 1 Egg
  • 175 ml Neutral Oil
  • 1 T Sesame Oil
  • 1 T Rice Vinegar
  • Pinch of salt and cayenne pepper
