These sweet and nourishing feijoamuffins are free from gluten and refined sugar. During feijoa season, I peeled and froze a bucket of feijoas in small ziploc bags, so now I can make this recipe whenever feijoa cravings hit
This is a very basic feijoamuffinrecipe and is quite nice. It comes from my mother's recipe book, so not quite sure where it has come from originally, but it is quick and easy to make
Pour liquid and feijoa pulp into dry ingredients and mix very gently just to combine. Spoon into greased muffin tins and bake for 10-15 minutes until muffins spring back when gently pressed
Mark's aunty Marigold who we'd been staying with in Johannesburg packed us off on our travels with a few days' worth of muffins (her friend Maureen's recipe) to eat for our breakfast
photo credits Kelda AikmanSo, we have made is safely to Perth and it is only now, nearly 3 weeks on from our surprise wedding that I am able to catch my breath and do a write up on the gluten-free chocolate wedding cake I promised I would share
But when a friend of mine asked if I would like to contribute a recipe for her online gluten-free Christmas magazine it was these cookies that instantly jumped into my mind to share
It seems that this year in Perth has been an exceptionally good one for citrus. Everywhere you look trees are laden with branches almost breaking under the weight they are holding
I mentioned yesterday that Strawberry Shortcake Muffins rank among one of my favorites. The recipe came from the Baking Makes Things Better blog, which I highly recommend if you enjoy baking
To go with the asparagus soup, I've also made some savoury asparagus and cheese muffins. The original recipe uses Cheshire cheese, which I couldn't find in the supermarkets here, so I substituted with Cheddar cheese
I looked for an easy muffinrecipe which the kids could do all by themselves (with minimal supervision), and picked this chocolate chocolate-chip muffinrecipe from Nigella Lawson
I am sitting having cup of coffee and a feijoamuffin. It is one from Alison Holst’s muffin books but as usual I have changed it slightly to suit our tastes
This recipe can also be used to make a cake or loaf, I've done it with great success. These delicious Feijoamuffins would have to be one of my favorites, their walnut and cinnamon sugar topping makes them irresistibly crunchy
I've sent some to my youngest, Katrina, now in the South Island as she loves them and now I am trying out some of my favourite but also some new recipes for them
Because we have two Feijoa trees there is always a need to find recipes to use them in and this is one I have adapted from an old apple muffinrecipe from my mother
